Release Devices

An external quick release lock is used with garage door openers that have been fitted to garages that have no other means of access than the garage door itself.

If the garage has no access door some form of emergency release device is required to allow the customer to disconnect the opener from the motor externally, in case of power failure. Most garage door operators require an additional lock to be purchased and fitted into the door to enable it to be opened manually from outside or attached to the existing garage door handle.
